Legendary playmaker Kaka has taken to Twitter to herald Celtic, while he also praised the atmosphere at Celtic Park.
The now-retired 38-year-old wrote: ‘What great memories I have playing against Celtic. Play in Glasgow is one of the best atmosphere in football.’
To hear such praise from an iconic footballer who played in phenomenal atmospheres all over the world across his career should mean a lot to Celtic fans.
After all, Kaka has been there and seen it all.
He won the coveted Ballon d’Or award in 2007 for his efforts with AC Milan, who he helped win the Champions League and also a Serie A title.
The Celtic Park faithful will know all about the former Real Madrid star, seeing as he scored one of the best goals of his career against the Hoops.
Kaka himself admitted to BT Sport that his phenomenal last 16 strike in Glasgow back in 2007 was one of the best goals he’s ever scored.
With the knockout tie already into extra-time, the former Orlando City man picked up the ball around the halfway line before surging upfield.
He then slotted a fine finish under Artur Boruc.
It left the Celtic side on the day – which included Neil Lennon – crestfallen as the Italians progressed into the Champions League quarter-final.
While his tweet won’t do anything to rid the painful memories of his late strike, it is interesting to see that he thinks Celtic Park’s atmosphere is one of the best in football.
