Speaking during Sky Sports’ coverage of QPR vs Aston Villa today at 14:10, former Villa manager Tim Sherwood singled out Jonathan Kodjia for praise, highlighting the great character shown by the Ivory Coast international during the game.
Steve Bruce’s men earned a crucial 1-0 victory at Loftus Road today, and now find themselves in 13th position in the Championship table, just six points adrift of sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

The outcome could have been so different though, after the 26-year-old former Bristol City striker failed to convert from the penalty spot during the first-half.
He bounced back in superb fashion in the end, and scored Villa’s winner, which ensured the visitors headed back to the Midlands with all three points, and Sherwood told Sky Sports how Kodjia deserves high acclaim for the manner in which he responded to his spot-kick miss:
“He missed a penalty in the first-half, but showed real character to be able to keep going as he did during the game, and get them the winner.”

Villa will actually have to make do without Kodjia from the start of January, when he joins up with the Ivory Coast squad for the African Cup of Nations.
