Whitehawk manager Richard Hill is returning to Aston Villa.
Non-league side Whitehawk have confirmed on their official website that manager Richard Hill has left the club to return to Aston Villa.
New Villa boss Steve Bruce has been forming his coaching staff at Villa Park, with Stephen Clemence and Gary Walsh reuniting with him having all worked together at Hull City, whilst Colin Calderwood left Brighton to become Bruce’s assistant boss.

Work is still ongoing at Villa Park though, and after Steve Round arrived as technical director and scout Ian Atkins quit Everton for Villa, it seems another new face has joined the club – or rather, returned to the club.
National League South side Whitehawk today confirmed that manager Richard Hill has left the club, and will be joining up with Bruce at Villa Park, with the Birmingham Mail claiming he will take on a ‘part time regional scouting role’.

Whitehawk claimed that they felt it’s a great opportunity for Hill, so didn’t stand in his way, whilst thanking him for the work he has done during his short spell in charge.
Hill, 53, only became Whitehawk manager in September after a spell with Eastleigh, but he’s already left the club in order to return to Villa Park.

Hill worked as Brian Little’s assistant at Villa during the 1990’s, and is now heading back to the club as a regional scout, whilst his non-league knowledge could end up helping Villa land the next Jamie Vardy or Charlie Austin.
The Birmingham Mail note that, despite much of Hill’s post-playing career being in coaching or management, he will not be a part of Bruce’s backroom staff, and will purely focus on scouting.
