Nottingham Forest should make a move for Leeds United reserve goalkeeper Ross Turnbull.
Nottingham Forest’s Dorus De Vries
Nottingham Forest’s decision to sell Dorus de Vries to Celtic left them short of a first team goalkeeper
This was highlighted at the weekend as they shipped four goals, with Stephen Henderson failing to impress.
They may have acted today to sign Vladimir Stojkovic, but the Serbian lacks experience in the Championship and has a mixed record. Adding another face to the mix would be a wise move to hedge their bets.
A look to this weekend’s Championship opponents Leeds United could potentially provide the solution, with the Whites spoiled for choice.
Ross Turnbull
Leeds signed Rob Green in the summer, pushing Marco Silvestri and youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell down the pecking order, along with forgotten man Ross Turnbull.
Turnbull, 31, signed for Leeds 12 months ago on a two-year deal, and had looked poised to win the starting job from an out of form Silvestri last Autumn before his season was ended by an ankle injury.
He faces little prospect of first team football this season with new manager Garry Monk coming in with his own ideas, and a move to Forest, who need additions, could be a perfect solution for all parties.

Turnbull is used to dealing with pressure, having played for Chelsea, even featuring in the Champions League for the Blues.
The former England youth international has Premier League experience with Middlesbrough too, and has also featured in the Championship for Doncaster Rovers and Cardiff.
From a financial perspective, having signed on a free, Leeds would demand little for his signature, and may simply accept a loan deal if Forest were unsure about him being a permanent solution.
