Speaking on the All To Play For Podcast, Bobby Zamore has been speaking about West Ham’s need for a striker and Tammy Abraham.
The Hammers could certainly do with an extra option up top. Aside from Michail Antonio, they don’t have a recognised senior number nine.
As you can imagine, West Ham were a topic of conversation when Zamora appeared on a podcast alongside Joe Cole, and they were speaking about potential striking options.
Tammy Abraham was one name that came up, and Zamore believes that the Englishman wouldn’t be tempted by a move to West Ham.
What’s Zamora said about Abraham?
The ex-Hammer claims that Abraham wouldn’t be tempted by a move to the London Stadium.
“I don’t think Tammy would want to go there. I don’t he think he would now. Personally I think in his mind he thought ‘I’m a big, big player and I should go to a big, big club’. He went to Aston Villa and did his thing, but I think that was when he needed games. Now I think he thought he should’ve been playing at Chelsea week-in week-out and I don’t think West Ham would entice him enough. Forget the money side of it, I don’t think they’re a big enough name,” Zamora said.

Probably right
As much as West Ham fans won’t like to hear it, Zamora is probably right.
Abraham is 24 years old and is already playing for one of the most prestigious clubs in Europe – AS Roma.
A move to West Ham wouldn’t be a massive step down, but it would be a step down nonetheless.
Abraham probably feels as though he’s good enough to play for an elite club, and we can see why West Ham wouldn’t really appeal to him.
