There’s so much negativity surrounding Arsenal at the moment, but there’s one shining beacon of hope, and that’s the youth system at the north London club.
The Gunners have always been brilliant at bringing young talents through. The likes of Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey have flourished with the London as teenagers.
It seems as though there is another star coming through right now the shape of Charlie Patino, the young midfielder has been described as the most talented player to ever come through Hale End, and supporters are already getting excited about his future.
However, while Patino is an incredibly exciting prospect, we believe there is another equally exciting player coming through who could light up the Emirates for years to come.
We’re talking about Mika Biereth.
You would be forgiven for never having heard of Biereth before, the 18-year-old only joined Arsenal this summer after rejecting a new contract with Fulham, but he looks to be the real deal.
Indeed, Biereth was the top scorer in the country at Premier League U18 level last season, netting 21 goals in as many games, and while that is a promising statistic, when you add in the fact he got 13 assists alongside his 21 strikes, you have a striker who looks like he could be a dominant force in years to come.
Biereth comes from the Fulham academy, and while the Cottagers aren’t the greatest club in the world, their academy can rival the Premier League’s best.
Indeed, the likes of Ryan Sessegnon and Harvey Elliott have come through Craven Cottage in recent years, while Fabio Carvalho is already attracting interest from Real Madrid after his bright start to life in the Championship.
Biereth looks like an absolute gem. He has an eye for goal and he’s also a great creator.
The young Englishman already has two goal contributions in three PL2 games for the Gunners’ U23s this season, and if he keeps that up, it may not be long before he gets a first-team chance.
