Manchester United are strongly linked with Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, but they should be concentrating on Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

Manchester United are preparing a £60m bid for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata after having an initial £52m offer rejected, reports the Guardian.
Upon their return to the Champions League, Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has made signing at least one new striker a priority over the summer.

This certainly makes sense, with captain Wayne Rooney increasingly becoming a periphery figure at the club and the BBC reporting that United are unlikely to offer injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new contract.
However, while Morata is undoubtedly a top-class forward, having scored 20 goals in 43 games for Madrid in all competitions in 2016/17, there is a better option that the super-rich Premier League outfit should be going all out to sign.
That man is Harry Kane.

The England international has been strongly linked with Mourinho’s side on several occasions over the past few seasons, but nothing concrete has ever come of it.
Morata is a fine player but Kane is genuinely world-class. English fans struggle to put that label on their own, but 29 league goals from 30 appearances suggests it is accurate, with only four other players across Europe’s top five divisions scoring more.

It is a not a one-off from Kane either, who now has 78 strikes in 116 Premier League games. The 23-year-old’s price would certainly reflect that, but the Red Devils should be compelled to pay it.
Tottenham Hotspur supporters would argue why a player who has just finished second in England’s top tier would go to the team that finished sixth, but money talks and Spurs cannot compete with United on that front.
