Spurs have been linked with Ben Mee but is James Tarkowski the Burnley defender they should actually be targeting?

Mee is about to enter the final year of his current contract at Turf Moor and as a result the Clarets could be convinced to sell for around £20 million.

Arsenal are also thought to be interested in the 28-year-old, who has helped Sean Dyche’s side to the fourth best defensive record in the Premier League this season.
Is Mee the right man?
While the former England Under-21 international has undoubtedly been impressive this term, is he the defender that Spurs should be targeting?

Alongside Mee in central defence for most of this campaign has been James Tarkowski, who is three years his junior and is in Gareth Southgate’s current England squad after an eye-catching year of his own in 2017/18.
Chelsea and the Gunners were linked with Tarkowski by the Metro back in December and while the 25-year-old could cost £10m more at £30m, would he be the better investment?
