Glasgow Rangers should consider Garry Monk for the Ibrox job if he becomes available.
The highly competent job done by caretaker boss Graeme Murty so far has demonstrated to Rangers that they do not need to rush into appointing a permanent manager at Ibrox.
Having waited six weeks since sacking Pedro Caixinha and risen from fourth to second in the table, the Gers are clearly willing to take their time in order to get their man.

He is a young coach, highly rated, who has worked in the Premier League and should not be discounted just because of one poor stint.
His current attention is focused on Middlesbrough, but with the Boro Gazette claiming he is ‘running out of lives’ at the club, pressure is building.
If Monk was sacked, a move to a club outside of England could be attractive, and Rangers should hedge their bets, wait and see how his situation plays out between now and the end of the year.
