Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after discovering a very impressive statistic recorded by Harvey Elliott at Blackburn Rovers.

The 17-year-old is currently getting a regular taste of first-team action at Ewood Park in what is his first stint away from Liverpool.

In short, it’s going really well with the Championship club.

The statistic in question is this. No player in England’s second tier has assisted more goals than the teenager this season, as WhoScored shows.

Elliott has registered nine assists in 24 appearances, along with four goals.

He is currently tied on nine assists with Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Reading’s Michael Olise.

However, the Bees striker needed 30 appearances to record nine assists, whereas the Royals maestro needed 28 games.

Liverpool’s wonderkid really has taken to life in a difficult division like a duck to water.

He’s performing like he’s been playing for Blackburn for ten years – Tony Mowbray must be delighted he moved to sign him over the summer.

One supporter said that you can ‘forget’ about Erling Braut Håland or Kylian Mbappé, because Elliott is the future.

Another said that they would love to see the forward get some game time at Anfield next season.

Let’s see what some other Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the statistic…
