Last night, Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah were involved in another massive game between Senegal and Egypt.

Once again, Mané came out victorious as he helped defeat his Liverpool teammate on penalties to fire Senegal to the World Cup.

While Jürgen Klopp will surely be delighted for the Liverpool No.10, we have a feeling he’ll also be overjoyed at what Curtis Jones got up to.

What’s the story?

Well, the £47,000-a-week man appeared for the England Under-21 side, as they beat Albania’s Under-21s by three goals to nil.

After Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun had opened the scoring, Jones added a second with an excellent goal.

The 21-year-old sprinted towards Sergio Kalaj, who had just received the ball deep in his own half, before robbing him of possession.

Kalaj was the last man, so Jones then had a free run at goal which he took full advantage of, slotting a cool finish beyond Simon Simoni.

You can see the moment of brilliance below.

It may not seem like much, but Klopp is always demanding his players to press with intensity and win possession in dangerous areas, so the German will be overjoyed by what Jones did.

Liverpool must trust Curtis Jones

In our view, Klopp should give Jones more responsibility at Anfield.

The Liverpool No.17 has only made seven Premier League starts this season, and there is now talk of Klopp being personally involved in a move for Jude Bellingham (Bild).

While a move for the Borussia Dortmund gem would be wise, it hopefully wouldn’t limit Jones, who has a real future under Klopp.

From our point of view, the Reds Academy graduate is a perfect Klopp player, as he combines quality in the final third with aggressive pressing in midfield.

He’s already a superb footballer at the age of just 21, so if Klopp sticks with him, Jones could easily become a key player in future.
