Jose Enrique has stated on Instagram that he thinks Liverpool should ‘forget’ about pushing for Kylian Mbappe’s signature in the near future because of his ‘impossible’ salary.

AS recently claimed that the price on Mbappe’s head could drop from £400 million to £111 million if he enters the final year of his contract in Paris.

Liverpool’s name has been linked with the Frenchman’s talents for some while now, but given the front three Jurgen Klopp has at his disposal, it was always going to be a dream move.

Former Reds left-back, Enrique, stated on Instagram that the champions need to be ‘realistic’ about signing Mbappe in the near future and he thinks he’s a player they should now just forget about.

Added with his above Instagram post, a supporter pointed out to Enrique that it’s ‘definitely not unrealistic’ to sign the PSG star down the line for ‘less than £100m at his age’ and he issued this response in the comments section:

“The transfer fee is ok, we can pay,” Enrique stated. “[The] salary, forget it mate.”

Both Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are 28, whilst Roberto Firmino is one year older than his Merseyside teammates.

At the age of, 21, Liverpool have all the time in the world to secure his services and he would be the perfect fit for the six-time European Cup winners in years to come.

Liverpool’s trophies under Jurgen Klopp

  1. Champions League

    2018/19

  2. UEFA Super Cup

    2019

  3. FIFA Club World Cup

    2019

  4. Premier League

    2019/20

But as Liverpool have proven, they won’t go crazy in the transfer market without being calculated, and given Mbappe’s talents, going in crazy for him is what’s probably needed.

Even though Liverpool suffered one of their worst defeats in decades on Sunday when Aston Villa put seven goals past them, it doesn’t take away the fact that they have one of the most fearsome and ruthless front three in the business.
