Tottenham Hotspur look like they will be serious contenders on all fronts this season, but do they still lack that bit of creative magic in the final third?

Julian Draxler’s agent Fabio Parisi has confirmed that his 23-year-old client will leave Wolfsburg this summer, when speaking to Italian media outlet TuttoSport and reported via talkSPORT.

The German international has been the subject of long-term interest from various Premier League clubs over the past few seasons, with Arsenal amongst the parties reportedly interested.

Draxler’s agent told TuttoSport that this will be his last season in the Bundesliga, as quoted by talkSPORT:

“Wolfsburg have strong owners, but unfortunately for the German fans, everyone wants to leave there. Over the summer Draxler was on the verge of joining PSG, who had offered nearly £59m. He will definitely leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season. He would’ve gladly run to join Juve and is the ideal trequartista for Allegri. I repeat: Draxler will leave, but whether or not Juventus are interested again is another matter.”

Despite Parisi’s preference for Draxler to move to Italy, he did insist that no deal had yet been struck, which still leaves the door open for other clubs to make their move.

Tottenham should seriously consider a move for Draxler, and if they managed to sign the explosive forward, he could take them to a whole new level.

Rumours regarding Spurs’ interest in Real Madrid star Isco refuse to go away, but the North London outfit would be far better served in making a move for the 26-capped Germany international.

Since Pochettino arrived at White Hart Lane two years ago, he has undoubtedly taken the Lilywhites to another level, with his high-intensity pressing game being implemented impressively by his players.

One question that remains for Tottenham is whether or not they can still produce the goods in the final third when they are without Harry Kane or Christian Eriksen.

They have proved that they’re able to cope without the former over recent weeks, with the form of Son Heung-min helping Pochettino’s men climb to second in the league table.

The addition of Draxler, however, would provide Spurs with another dimension, and his ability to play anywhere along the front line would give Pochettino the ability to introduce more variety into this tactical play.

If and when the German leaves Wolfsburg, there will be no shortage of interest in his signature, but Tottenham should do everything in their power to bring him to the Premier League, and then they really would be serious contenders, both domestically and on the continent.
