The Porto hitman would be a useful addition to the West Ham United squad this summer.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is desperate to improve his options in forward areas this summer, as he looks to freshen up his current bunch of underperforming strikers.
Andy Carroll, Andre Ayew and Diafra Sakho all endured lengthy spells on the sidelines last term, and the addition of a more durable, highly-enregtic hitman will surely feature highly on the Croatian’s agenda.
With this in mind, West Ham should consider a move for Mali international Moussa Marega, who is currently plying his trade in Portugal with Porto.
Moussa Marega (centre)
The 26-year-old spent the entirety of last season’s campaign on loan with Vitória de Guimarães, and showcased his potential, scoring 14 goals and chipping in with six assists in 32 appearances.
Marega can operate as an orthodox centre-forward, but is equally as effective when deployed in the wide attacking positions, and that kind of versatility could prove to be crucial to the east London outfit next term, what with the busy fixture schedule that awaits them.
Standing at 6ft 1in tall, the Mali international possesses an imposing frame, which makes him ideal for the robust nature of the English game.
He is exceptionally quick along the ground, and that combined with his tireless work ethic are the precise attributes that the Hammers need next season, especially when playing at the London Stadium on their larger than average pitch.
He is also no slouch in front of goal, as his record in the Portuguese top flight proved last term.
Marega has just one year remaining on his current deal with Porto, so he shouldn’t command too much of a hefty transfer fee, and if Bilic manages to bring him to West Ham, it could turn out to be a real coup.
