For Crystal Palace fans, much of the summer will presumably consist of daydreaming over Chelsea allowing the sale of Conor Gallagher.
It will be immeasurably difficult to replace the 22-year-old when he returns to Stamford Bridge, and we’re sure most of Patrick Vieira’s summer will be spent on finding an alternative.
However, Chelsea could spoil Crystal Palace’s summer plans in another way, after Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK Government.
What’s the story?
Well, as detailed by CBS Sport, Josh Harris and David Blitzer – co-owners of Crystal Palace alongside Steve Parish and John Textor – could now purchase Chelsea.
The pair have formed a partnership with Martin Broughton, former chairman of British Airways, and Sebastian Coe, a former Conservative MP, as they look to take over from Abramovich.
However, if they are successful in doing so, they would have to relinquish their stake in Crystal Palace.

As complicated as it may seem, a source close to the south Londoners told CBS Sports: “A deal for Harris and Blitzer’s stake (in Crystal Palace) could be in place in 30 seconds.”
Therefore, it seems this could actually be a speedy process.
Chelsea could frustrate Crystal Palace
Whatever Crystal Palace have planned for the summer, it will obviously need funding.
Parish and Textor are, of course, wealthy men, but without the financial help of Harris and Blitzer, it’s possible that transfer plans wouldn’t be able to go ahead as expected.

Effectively, it would see the Eagles rushed into finding new investment, or else they may have to strip back some of their plans.
Keep an eye on this saga, to see if Harris and Blitzer are successful in their attempts to buy Chelsea with Broughton and Coe.
