Tottenham Hotspur’s manager search is set to go on after talks with former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca collapsed at the eleventh hour, but if reports are to be believed, Tottenham may get an even better export from the Italian capital.

Indeed, according to The Express, Tottenham are in for Roma full-back Leonardo Spinazzola, and that’s a move that should have every Spurs fan very excited.

Spinazzola has been one of the stars of Euro 2020 so far with his lung-busting performances for Italy catching the eye of many, but he’s been doing this for quite some time now.

The Italian is one of Roma’s better players, ranking third in the squad for overall rating on WhoScored while also acting as a serious attacking threat from left-back, contributing to nine goals last season.

With all due respect to Fonseca, Spinazzola would be the better export from Roma. After all, the Portuguese boss isn’t a top-calibre manager, having never won anything in one of the top-5 major European leagues.

However, Spinazzola looks like a ready-made star who could be a real asset at any team in the Premier League.

Of course, signings this summer and how successful they are majorly hinge on who Tottenham hire as their next manager, but having watched Spinazzola star on the European stage, it’s hard to believe that any manager wouldn’t be able to find a place for him in their squad.

The full-back could be one of the signings of the summer if Tottenham manage to pull this one off, and bringing him in from Roma should make Spurs forget all about their failed pursuit of Fonseca.
