Everton and Newcastle have shown interest in Jonny Evans but is Ahmed Hegazi the West Brom defender they should actually target?

The future of Jonny Evans could be decided soon, with the Leicester Mercury reporting Leicester City are closing in on a deal for the West Bromwich Albion defender.
Evans is available for just £3m due to a relegation clause in the 30-year-old’s contract that was triggered when the Baggies’ demotion to the Championship was confirmed.

Several other Premier League clubs have shown interest in the Northern Ireland international, with the Mirror reporting that Everton and Newcastle United are among them.
Alternatives?
Yet if the Foxes do win the race for Evans’ signature, should Newcastle and the Toffees instead look to the centre-back’s teammate at the Hawthorns – Ahmed Hegazi?

Leicester have also already shown interest, as have West Ham United, but at that price it would be foolish for the Magpies and their Merseyside counterparts to not at least consider a deal.
