Leeds should move on Stefano Okaka.

Earlier this week Leeds fans sent messages on social media to Watford ace Troy Deeney, urging him to join the club.

A move for the striker was always overly ambitious, but there is another Hornets striker who Leeds may have a chance of landing.

Tuttomercatoweb reported this week that Watford are willing to let Stefano Okaka leave the club, following the arrival of Andre Gray.

This is despite his goal in the opening game of the season against Liverpool, a match which Deeney sat out injured.

Okaka, 28, has played previously in England with Fulham but spent much of his career in Italy with Parma, Roma and Sampdoria, even representing the Azzurri.

Familiar with English football, Okaka could benefit from dropping down a division and leading the line for Leeds.

He is a player Leeds have previously eyed up, with Talksport reporting their interest in 2015 after his form at Sampdoria sparked a scramble for his services.

Now this is Leeds’ best opportunity to get him.

Okaka is a player capable of dropping deep and linking play, while also able to lead the line.

Combined with the versatile Samu Saiz he could be an ideal option, while also offering the experience which the raw new arrival Jay-Roy Grot lacks.
