Arsenal have a habit of raiding Brighton in recent times.
They signed Ben White for £50m last summer, they landed Leandro Trossard in January, and they made a concerted effort to sign Moises Caicedo towards the end of the winter transfer window.
As we all know, Brighton have many top talents who are ripe for the picking right now, and while the likes of Kauro Mitoma and Caicedo are making the most headlines, we can’t help but feel there’s one Seagulls player who is exactly what Arsenal need right now.
We’re talking about Solly March.

Indeed, the Brighton star looks like he could be the perfect backup for Bukayo Saka at The Emirates.
Much like Saka, March primarily plays on the right wing, but, again similarly to Saka, he’s also played plenty of football at wing-back. His work-rate, energy, and technical ability make him a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s system. He is also known for his ability to cut inside on his left foot and create chances for his teammates – sound familiar?
When compared to Saka, March’s statistics are slightly inferior, but he still averages 2.3 shots per game, 1.6 key passes per game, and 1.5 dribbles per game. These numbers are very similar to Saka’s, with the Arsenal youngster averaging 2.5 shots per game, 2.2 key passes per game, and 1.7 dribbles per game.
The statistical profile is remarkably similar, and while March may be the lite version of Saka, that’s exactly what Arsenal need as they try to build depth.
March’s ability to play multiple positions could be especially valuable for Arsenal, who need more depth if they’re going to re-establish themselves among Europe’s elite in the long run. He could provide cover for Saka on the right-wing or even play on the left side if needed. He is also capable of playing as a full-back or a wing-back, which is a bit of a bonus.
All in all, March could be an ideal backup for Bukayo Saka at Arsenal, and while he may not be the most glamorous signing, March would be a solid addition to Arsenal’s squad and could prove to be an astute acquisition.
