Leeds United are once again the talk of the town after an impressive 2-0 win against Crystal Palace put them into the top 10 of the Premier League.
The Whites have been one of the surprise packages in the Premier League this term, and one player who has performed above all expectations is Patrick Bamford.
The striker has scored 12 goals in the Premier League already this term, and he’s on track to have a 20-goal season, and perhaps he could even win the Golden Boot.
Of course, if Bamford does hit 20 for the season, some bigger teams may begin to have a look at him, and Leeds are vulnerable to losing him right now.
This summer Bamford will enter the final year of his Leeds United contract, and if he doesn’t agree to new terms, Leeds will be in a very precarious position with their star striker.
There’s been a lot of talk lately about Ezgjan Alioski’s contract situation at the club, and with the North Macedonian having just six months remaining on his deal, that should be something Victor Orta is looking at, but we can’t help but feel Bamford’s situation is more important.

Having a year left on your contract does dramatically affect your transfer valuation, and while there are currently no signs that Bamford is being looked at by the bigger clubs in the league, it wouldn’t be surprising to see any side make a move for him after the season he’s having.
Leeds have to protect their asset and protect the future of their squad by tying Bamford down to a new deal sooner rather than later.
