Mohamed Eisa has been a real hit for Cheltenham and should be on the radar of bargain-hunting Queens Park Rangers.
There’s something in the water in the Eisa household. Just half a season after striker Mohamed swapped Greenwich Borough for Cheltenham and adapted to the professional game like a duck to water, his brother could be about to follow in his footsteps.
According to The Mail, Queens Park Rangers and Charlton Athletic are tracking red-hot Wealdstone winger Abobaker Eisa, who has ten goals in all competitions this season and six in his last six.
Eisa is thriving in the National League South – so much so that QPR even believe he is capable of making an immediate step up to English football’s second tier.
But if Ian Holloway’s side wants one of the Eisa brothers, why not complete the set? Mohamed has been a terrific addition for League Two Cheltenham this season, scoring seven times in 19 appearances in the fourth division.
The 22-year-old netted 57 goals across two seasons with Greenwich Borough and his trajectory is showing no signs of slowing down. According to The Sun (October 6th, page 49), Championship duo Middlesbrough and Birmingham City have been alerted to his potential and it seems only a matter of time before Eisa makes the next step.
But is he in the sights of QPR too? Goals remain an issue for the Londoners, who have failed to hit the net in three of their last five league games.
Their top scorer this season, Matt Smith (below), has just five goals while Conor Washington, Idrissa Sylla and Jamie Mackie have notched four apiece.
And while the threat of Financial Fair Play sanctions means QPR will be unable to spend much in January, Eisa could come cheap and, like his brother, may be an astute addition at Loftus Road.
