Nottingham Forest are keeping an eye on the situation surrounding free agent Andre Ayew, according to The Mail. The former Swansea City forward is also a target for Everton.

Ayew’s potential signing could be a boost for Forest, as he has proven himself to be a goal-scoring threat in the Premier League in the past.

During his time at Swansea, Ayew became a favourite of Forest manager Steve Cooper, who was in charge of the Welsh club at the time. In fact, Cooper was full of praise for Ayew, speaking highly of his ability and impact on the pitch.

Cooper loves Ayew

The Welsh manager hailed Ayew during his time with him at Swansea.

“Andre has been brilliant in every way, shape or form,” Cooper said.

“We know he has the ability, he can be as good as anyone in the league and he can play at a higher level.

“But the fact he is showing the commitment and work-rate he is, means it is rubbing off on everybody.

“It is certainly motivating me to see a player so committed to what we are doing.

“I thought he was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch last night, and that is expected because he is at that level.”

Experienced

The 33-year-old m has a wealth of experience, having played for so many clubs in Europe and the Premier League. While he’s also a decorated international who has played at numerous World Cups for Ghana.

There is a strong argument to make that Forest don’t need any more signings, but as we enter the final stretch of a relegation battle, having this sort of experience in the squad is vital.

It remains to be seen whether Forest will make a move for Ayew.

He’s versatile, with the ability to play as a centre forward or out wide, and he’s been a proven goalscorer at the highest level. With Cooper’s previous admiration for Ayew, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Forest manager tries his best to bring him to the City Ground.
