The Reds duo impressed as Sabri Lamouchi earned his first Championship win as Forest boss, thrashing Birmingham at the City Ground.

A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the EFL’s Team of the Week for the weekend just gone, wondering how Reds duo Joe Lolley and Samba Sow failed to make the XI.
Sabri Lamouchi’s side took on Birmingham City at the City Ground and ran out 3-0 winners over the Blues, Lolley opening the scoring and assisting the second with a cross for Lewis Grabban, who scored with a looping header, while Michael Dawson added a third in the second half.
Sow, meanwhile, put in another impressive performance in the centre of the park as he weighed in with numerous tackles, was neat and tidy in possession, and displayed virtually endless energy around the pitch.
Despite Lolley and Sow’s standout displays against Birmingham, they failed to make the cut for the EFL’s selection, which prompted some Forest fans to question the decision on social media:
Forest have claimed four points from their opening three games of the Championship season, their opening-day defeat to West Bromwich Albion followed up by a draw at Leeds United and the win over Birmingham, as well as seeing off Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup first round to book a bumper second-round tie against Derby County.
