A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to praise Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi for what he told Brennan Johnson ahead of the Carabao Cup game against Derby County at the City Ground, as reported by BBC Nottingham Sport.

The Reds put their bitter rivals to the sword in Bridgford as goals from Albert Adomah, Joe Lolley and the returning Joao Carvalho ensured a straightforward 3-0 victory for the hosts against their bitter rivals.

Johnson, the son of Forest goalscoring cult hero David Johnson, was handed his full Reds debut by Lamouchi against the Rams and he put in a superb display which included a crunching tackle on Lee Buchanan and a delivery for what should have been the opener for Rafa Mir.

To put an 18-year-old in such a high-profile fixture could have been deemed a risk but it certainly yielded dividends and Lamouchi told BBC Nottingham Sport how he sought to take the pressure off the young attacking midfielder.

Plenty of Forest fans took to social media and praised Lamouchi for his man management skills:

Forest will find out who they face in the next round on Wednesday night, the third-round draw taking place at Sincil Bank, following the conclusion of the televised fixture between Lincoln City and Everton.

Up next for the Reds is another home game as they welcome Preston North End to the City Ground in the Championship this Saturday.
