Nottingham Forest host Arsenal in one of the most enticing clashes of the third-round of the FA Cup. Yet fans on social media are not pleased about when the game will take place.

It has today been confirmed via Forest’s official website that the fixture will take place at 5.15pm on Sunday night due, with the game to be shown live on British TV.

Indeed, the news has infuriated both Forest and Arsenal fans given the added complexity it now adds to attending the game, with trains between Nottingham and London infrequent on Sunday’s.

As well as Forest and Arsenal fans, neutrals are not happy about the update as it means that not a single one of the five non-league clubs still in the FA Cup will be shown on TV, with the sides missing out on crucial broadcasting money.

Forest will be hopeful for a strong showing on the night, yet the new timing could see the Championship giants repeat history based on the last time they played Arsenal in the FA Cup.

The two sides met at the City Ground in 2018 for the third-round in a match that took place in the evening, and an Eric Lichaj-inspired performance saw Forest eliminate Arsenal at the first hurdle for the first and only time under Arsene Wenger.

Whether or not Steve Cooper will be able to repeat the heroics from almost four years ago is yet to be seen. But one thing that is certain is that Forest fans are fuming on social media that their clash with Arsenal has been moved to Sunday evening.

Here’s what some Forest fans had to say about the updated fixture date and time on Twitter…
