Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has said on UMM that Liverpool fans kept messaging him on Twitter for weeks after the game at Anfield.
The Whites took on Liverpool away from home at Anfield in their opening Premier League game of the season.
It ended in a 4-3 defeat for Leeds, but Marcelo Bielsa’s side did give the Reds a run for their money.
Leeds right-back Ayling nutmegged Liverpool forward Mane in the first half, but the Senegalese star did get him back by doing the same later on in the game.
It was a great moment for the English right-back, although in the end Liverpool emerged as the victors.
Ayling has said that for weeks and weeks after the game, Liverpool fans kept reminding him about Mane nutmegging him.
The 29-year-old said on UMM: “For weeks and weeks after, I was getting Liverpool fans just tweeting me every day. ‘Mane done you, Mane, Mane, Mane’. I was just like, ‘I done him in the first five minutes’.”

Welcome to social media.
It seems that it was banter from Liverpool fans, and it appears that Ayling took it sportingly.
It is great to see such banter between fans and player of a rival club, and it shows the positive side of social media.
Since that day, Liverpool have gone on to have a rather disappointing season, while Leeds have exceeded expectations.
True, Jurgen Klopp’s side can still finish in the Premier League top four, but injuries to Virgil van Dijk among other key players have badly affected them.
As for Leeds, Bielsa’s side will finish in the top half of the Premier League table this season.
