It was quite a tasty and drama-filled game between Liverpool and Chelsea on Saturday, as the two teams shared the spoils at Anfield.
From Reece James’ red card to Kai Havertz’s exquisite and well-timed header, there were a lot of talking points between these two Premier League title contenders.
But after the game, when Sky were conducting an interview with Chelsea defender Azpilicueta on the Anfield pitch, a certain Gary Neville wasn’t afraid to remind him of his time-wasting.
Liverpool fans will love what Neville had to say as Azpilicueta stood by him for his post-match interview, as broadcast on Sky Sports Premier League (28/08/21 at 7:50 pm)
“I think you had the ball in your hands for quite a long time when you were taking throw-ins,” laughed Neville. “That’s for sure.”
Azpilicueta then responded with a smile on his face by saying: “I don’t think so.”

Given that Chelsea were down to ten men for the second half, they defended in a resolute manner and kept the home team at bay.
That included playing a few mind games here and there, including from corners.
Azpilicueta was grappling with the likes of Virgil van Dijk when defending a corner and even fell to the floor at one stage.
Those actions didn’t sit well with the Liverpool supporters, who made it pretty clear that the Spanish defender was trying to con the man in the middle
After the full-time whistle, Azpilicueta could then be seen disputing with referee Anthony Taylor about the call to send Reece James off.
It resulted in Klopp and Azpilicueta also exchanging words, as it was pretty clear what the duo were discussing.
