Daniel Sturridge has taken to Twitter to react after Liverpool posted a 33-second video of his stunning goal against Chelsea in 2018.

What’s the story?

Well, yesterday marked three years to the day since Sturridge dramatically secured Liverpool a point in the dying stages at Stamford Bridge.

The 32-year-old picked up the ball from about 30 yards out, before unleashing a delightful, curling effort beyond Kepa Arrizabalaga.

After watching the footage back, Sturridge posted the following tweet.

Now, that’s quite an understatement – it’s obviously one of, if not the best, goal scored by the Englishman throughout his career.

In total, Sturridge scored 68 goals in 160 games for Liverpool, while also providing 26 assists.

The ex-Bolton man also lifted the Champions League, his first and only trophy with the Reds – he deserved far more silverware for his efforts.

In our view, Sturridge’s chip against West Brom in October 2013 was even better than this – it took a remarkable amount of technique.

While on the run, and also with Youssouf Mulumbu breathing down his neck, Liverpool’s former No.15 somehow lobbed Boaz Myhill.

As good as his strike against Chelsea was, we believe this is better purely because he was under immense pressure from Mulumbu.

For his goal at Stamford Bridge, Sturridge had all the time in the world to pick his spot.

It’s also worth noting that Myhill was barely off his line, so it was astonishing to see him get chipped from that far out.

Nevertheless, both are wonderful efforts, ones we came to expect from Sturridge during his impressive stint at Anfield.
