Mikel Arteta has revealed on Arsenal’s official website that Kieran Tierney is one of the quickest players at the Emirates Stadium.
Tierney on top
Tierney was named as Arsenal’s fastest player by Jack Wilshere recently, as he gave some insight into the North London club.
Arteta was asked to back up those claims that Tierney is the fastest player at his press conference today.
And the Spaniard said: “Yes, well depending on the test, but Kieran for sure is one of the quickest. Depending on the distances, and the different type of measurements that you want to take. But for sure he’s one of the fastest.”
Tierney’s speed and tenaciousness have already made him a very popular figure at Arsenal.
Future captain?
The Scot has grown into his role at left-back and is now one of the first names on the team sheet.
There is talk that Tierney could even become Arsenal captain in the future.

The only concern with regards to the former Celtic man is his tendency to pick up niggling injuries.
Tierney has often had a strong run of form thwarted by a fitness issue, and Arsenal will want to keep him off the treatment table for as long as possible this term.
The £25 million defender (BBC Sport) will almost certainly be in action tomorrow evening, when Arsenal take on Aston Villa in the Premier League.
