Kurt Zouma has claimed that Lionel Messi is the ‘greatest player of all time’, as he told West Ham’s Instagram story.

The West Ham defender has claimed that the recently-snapped-up PSG superstar is a ‘genius’ for everything he has done in the game.

In the modern era, the talk is certainly around whether it’s Messi or his long-term rival Cristiano Ronaldo as the best of all time.

Both are still going strong, and even after putting the ball in the back of the net a ridiculous number of times during their trophy-laden careers, they are still hungry to add to their record-breaking numbers.

Messi has six Ballon d’OR’s to his name and he will no doubt want to add to it before he hangs up his boots.

Helping PSG win the Champions League would certainly aide him along the way, but life in France has started in a quieter fashion than he would have hoped for.

Nonetheless, this is what Zouma had to say when he was asked who he thinks is the greatest footballer of all time, as he made his feelings pretty clear.

“I think it’s Lionel Messi,” said Zouma. “I think for everything he has done. For all the Ballon d’Or’s that he has won. For me, he is a genius.”

It will be interesting to see how long Messi continues working his magic because many will be hoping the 34-year-old continues on for many more years yet.

Luckily, both Messi and Ronaldo are in great shape, in great condition and they haven’t suffered any serious injuries during their careers, which hasn’t hampered them up until this point.

But both face different challenges now, whilst Ronaldo is used to playing for European giants across the continent.

For the first time in Messi’s career, he is out of Barcelona colours and hoping to write history in another country.
