Speaking on Liverpool’s YouTube channel, Kostas Tsimikas has been discussing Virgil van Dijk after the Dutch defender was selected in the FIFA 22 Team of the Season.
Van Dijk has, once again, proven himself to be one of the best defenders in the world this season, and according to Tsimikas, he’s the best defender he’s seen with his own eyes.
Naby Keita also reserved praise for the Dutchman, claiming that the defender never wants to lose, even in training sessions.

Tsimikas and Keita had nothing but good things to say about the centre-half.
“For me, personally he is the best defender I’ve seen with my eyes, he’s so big, so fast and so strong,” Tsimikas said.
“He never thinks one game is easy, in training too, he never wants to lose,” Naby Keita added.
“He’s very strong, he wins all of his duels and that’s why he makes it look so easy,” Tsimikas concluded.

As Tsimikas says, Virgil van Dijk is not only one of the greatest defenders of all time, he also makes everything he does look so easy.
You rarely see van Dijk break into a sprint, while we can’t remember him ever looking like he was even close to breaking a sweat on the football pitch.
The Liverpool star is, quite simply, a class above the rest, and he certainly deserves his place in the Team of the Season.
