Newcastle are said to be after a new left-back this month.

On-loan Torino defender Ola Aina is reportedly valued at just £8.8million despite his exceptional form for the Serie A side this season, and Newcastle United have to consider a move for the Chelsea star.

Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that the 22-year-old is available to leave Maurizio Sarri’s side for just under £9million. Torino are likely to be in the race for the Nigeria international.

But at such a bargain price, Newcastle have to consider a move for the Hull City loanee – who has managed six senior appearances for the west London side in his short career.

Rafa Benitez is looking to sign a new left-back, central midfielder, no.10 and a winger this window if owner Mike Ashley allows him to get the chequebook out, and Aina would certainly solve the left side of defence conundrum.

With Paul Dummett injured, Matt Ritchie has been playing on the left side of Newcastle’s defence while Javier Manquillo has also been given a run out here and there.

Newcastle’s 3-5-2 system involves wing backs, but the Spanish boss has used a four-man defence for much of the season prior to Dummett’s injury. Aina would fit right at home in both systems.

The speed machine would also be more than capable at offering cover on the flanks in attack, and that may help Newcastle kill two birds with one stone.

But for just £8.8million, Aina is an absolute bargain and for a player that is shining in Italian football, Newcastle have got to consider a move for the Chelsea star.
