Danny Murphy has aimed a jibe at West Ham fans on TalkSport (28/09/20 at 11:15 am) by telling them to talk less about their owners as he used Tottenham as an example.
The former midfielder stated that when Spurs were beaten on the opening day of the season, talk about their ‘horrendous’ performance on that day and their ‘lack of transfer activity’, at the time, wasn’t talked about for ‘two weeks or three weeks running’, and he thinks West Ham fans should follow suit.
What Murphy perhaps fails to realise is that Daniel Levy didn’t sell any key players or top-performing academy graduates, but instead, he brought Gareth Bale back to the club and signed Sergio Reguilon to boot.
In the meantime, West Ham still haven’t made use of the Grady Diangana sale and they’re heading towards transfer deadline day with a potentially catastrophic ending.
Nonetheless, this is what Murphy had to say about West Ham’s fans following their thumping win against Wolves.
“To be fair, we weren’t talking about Tottenham after their horrendous performance and their lack of transfer activity,” Murphy told TalkSport. “We didn’t have a big debate on that for two weeks or three weeks running.
“It seems we give West Ham more traction, and for some reason, I don’t know why, their fans [he then agrees they keep on bringing it back into the conversation regarding their owners/transfers].
“They are a passionate group of supporters, I get that – we should spend more time talking about that [their win against Wolves] than their owners for God sake.”

Six days remain before the summer transfer window slams shut and West Ham fans will be hoping they can get fresh legs through the door.
Defensive players are needed, especially at centre-back, and it might also be helpful if some of the more attack-minded players, who are currently back-ups, are also moved on and sold.
But if that Diangana money isn’t spent then the mood in East London isn’t going to be a pleasant one come next week.
