Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has raved about Liam Cooper in Leeds Live.

Bielsa has praised the Scotland international central defender for his consistency.

The Leeds boss has pointed out that the 30-year-old has kept his place in the Leeds team for a number of years now.

What Marcelo Bielsa has said

Bielsa told Leeds Live about Cooper: “The virtues he has and the characteristics have always been the same. The evolution has to do with the way he interprets his professional life.

“The opportunities he had and how he took advantage of them. He earned a place in his national team.

“He has kept his place in the team at Leeds for four seasons now. What he does to maintain himself and shine is what allows him to keep growing.”

Liam Cooper is a role model

Cooper is a key figure in the Leeds team, and it is really great to see Bielsa praise the 30-year-old.

The Scotland international is a very honest and hard-working defender.

In our view, Cooper is a role model.

The defender has come through the lower leagues and is now holding his own in the Premier League.

Remember, it was only in 2014 that Cooper was playing for Chesterfield.

Cooper has helped Leeds win promotion from the Championship and is now doing his part in the Premier League.

And he is still only 30.

There is a lot more that Cooper, who earns £35,000 per week (Salary Sport) has offer to Leeds and to Scotland.

Cooper has played 11 times in the Premier League for Leeds so far this season.

The Leeds no. 6 has provided one assist in those games.
