West Bromwich Albion lost their experienced midfielder earlier this month but could replace him with another.

West Bromwich Albion were dealt an early blow this summer when Darren Fletcher rejected their contract offer and instead signed a two-year deal with Stoke City, but the latest reports suggest the Baggies could get an upgrade for just £2million.
While Fletcher’s commitment and experience cannot be questioned, his influence was waning somewhat over the last few months and West Brom need to continually improve in order to build on an impressive recent campaign.

As reported by the Sun, the Baggies are planning a move for Hull City star Tom Huddlestone, who is available for just £2million following the Tigers’ relegation, and when you consider the over inflated transfer market, that is an absolute steal.
At 30, Huddlestone is three years younger than Fletcher and he has plenty to offer West Brom given his previous experience in the top two divisions.

With 161 appearances for Hull, 209 for Tottenham and 92 for Derby, Huddlestone knows what it takes to succeed and with his relegation clause easily covered by West Brom, he could not only replace Fletcher but out-perform the Scotland international over the next few years.
West Brom will be looking to significantly strengthen in key areas while also ensuring any absences are not sorely felt, and while Pulis may have been frustrated to see Fletcher move on for nothing, it is not going to take a significant outlay to render his exit sad but certainly not damaging.
