Last November, Rangers were linked to a striker who is now ripping up the Scottish Premiership.
According to The Glasgow Evening Times, the Gers were looking at a certain Kevin Nisbet.
At the time, the 23-year-old was scoring for fun with Dunfermline in the Championship and Rangers were reportedly keen.
Fast forward a year and maybe, just maybe, the Ibrox side should’ve pulled the trigger.
Nisbet joined Hibernian this past summer and has netted seven Premiership goals in 10 outings.
To put that into context, Rangers pair Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos only have seven between them in this competition.
And considering he joined the Leith side for only £250,000, it could be argued that Steven Gerrard missed a major bargain.
Nobody affiliated with Rangers is going to care about this now because despite Nisbet’s form, they’re top of the table and so far they have a great chance at stopping Celtic’s bid to win 10 titles in a row.
But if the goals dry up, which historically they do under Gerrard after December, then maybe questions should be asked as to why Nisbet wasn’t signed.
