Arsenal fans have been left stunned after Mikel Arteta was asked about speculation linking him with the Barcelona job in his press conference on Wednesday.

The 38-year-old told Sky Sports that he is ‘fully focused’ in his current job at Arsenal after emerging as a potential candidate for the Barcelona job.

Arsenal supporters are stunned that their manager has been linked with such a job given how the club have performed this season.

Whilst Arteta did well to steady the ship in North London after it was sinking under Unai Emery last season, added with the fact that he won the FA Cup and Community Shield, it’s gone the other way during this campaign.

There have been times when the Gunners have been sitting in the bottom half of the table, and if they slip-up a little during these coming months, then they can easily return to the bottom half.

Therefore, it’s understandable why Arsenal fans cannot believe what they are reading from their manager and what he is being asked.

In truth, everything isn’t rosy in Barcelona’s garden either with Ronald Koeman currently in charge and with every passing second it seems as though Lionel Messi is coming towards the end of his career at the Nou Camp.
