Last night, Tottenham suffered defeat to Arsenal in an Under-23 clash at Borehamwood, with the Gunners recording a 2-1 victory.
It wasn’t a great game for Spurs, although supporters can take pleasure from one outstanding moment delivered by Alfie Devine.
What’s the story?
Well, if you haven’t heard about this outstanding 17-year-old, you will soon.
Devine – who has already made his first-team debut for Tottenham – impressed against Arsenal, and scored his side’s only goal.
The teenager picked up the ball inside his own half, before bravely driving forward with a number of red and white shirts surrounding him.

In cultured fashion, Devine then opened his body up and slotted the ball beyond Hubert Graczyk to get Spurs back in the game.
You can see footage of the exquisite strike below.
It was Devine’s tenth goal of the season, while he has also provided three assists.
It comes after the Warrington-born prodigy scored five goals in 25 games last term, so he’s clearly making excellent progress.
Tottenham must get Alfie Devine involved
We’d love to hear what Tottenham’s outstanding youngsters think of their first-team’s struggles under Antonio Conte.
With a number of first-team stars struggling, the club’s standout gems – such as Devine – will probably be wondering when they’ll be given an opportunity.

In our view, Devine is certainly deserving of a Premier League debut soon, as reward for his fine efforts in the Under-23 side – six years above his age group.
Conte did name the 17-year-old on the bench against Leeds, so perhaps the Italian agrees with us – it’s time for some fresh blood in N17.
