Earlier today, Liverpool kept their Premier League titles hopes alive with a 2-0 win over Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Before kick-off, there was a nice moment on the pitch involving Jürgen Klopp, which we’re sure the Liverpool fans will love.

What’s the story?

Well, Klopp spotted Adam Lallana warming up for the Seagulls, and jogged across the pitch to give him one of his trademark hugs.

The pair then had a brief conversation, in which we can hear Lallana say “you alright?” to Klopp – we’re sure he feels more than “alright” now after securing the three points.

You can see footage of the heartwarming moment below.

During the game, the England international actually equalled a Premier League record, albeit an unwanted one.

Lallana was introduced from the bench by Graham Potter at half-time, although he lasted just eight minutes before being replaced by Pascal Groß due to injury.

It means the 33-year-old has now been subbed on, and subbed off in the same game, four times in his Premier League career, equalling Keith Gillespie’s record (OptaJoe).

Is Adam Lallana a Liverpool cult hero?

Klopp made his admiration for Lallana clear during their time together at Anfield, and there is clearly a mutual respect between the two.

The ex-Southampton maestro made 178 appearances for the Reds, winning the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

With no fans able to attend due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Liverpool said the idea for the trophy lift was to honour the club's fans, but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp urged fans to respect social distancing measures, after thousands gathered around the club's stadium and in the city centre following their coronation as champions last month. In those 178 outings, the St Albans-born playmaker scored 22 goals, while also providing 22 assists.

Lallana always gave 100% in a Liverpool shirt, and in our view, he is most certainly a cult hero at Anfield.
