Back in July, Marseille completed the signing of Matteo Guendouzi on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

It has proven to be a fine move, as the 22-year-old enjoys an eye-catching campaign in France, although there was a moment to forget on Tuesday.

What’s the story?

Well, Marseille faced Lyon on Tuesday, where Guendouzi actually scored the opener in the 10th minute – his third goal of the season.

Impressively, the Frenchman has also registered nine assists.

However, things took a turn for the worst in the final 15 minutes.

Firstly, Xherdan Shaqiri equalised in the 76th minute, before Moussa Dembele scored a delightful goal to win the game in the 89th minute.

As Arsenal fans will know, Guendouzi is an emotional player who wears his heart on his sleeve, and he was far from happy with the result.

Arsenal loanee Matteo Guendouzi was livid

After full-time, Amazon Prime cameras picked up the £8m man lurking in the tunnel, where he was presumably waiting to speak to someone.

Eventually, Guendouzi is nudged towards the dressing room by his teammates, who seem keen to get him away from a potential fight.

The Frenchman obliges, but decides to take his anger out on a wall on his way to the dressing room – you can see the footage below.

This will not surprise anyone at the Emirates Stadium.

As Football London explain, Mikel Arteta was deeply unimpressed with Guendouzi’s conduct back in 2020, before shipping him on loan to Hertha Berlin.

The fact Marseille hold an option to buy Guendouzi as part of their arrangement this season suggests Arteta wouldn’t mind seeing the midfield maestro leave for good.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as if the France international has changed his temperament at the Stade Vélodrome.
