Kevin Campbell labelled Farhad Moshiri‘s claims that it’s ‘not my decision’ on whether Frank Lampard will be sacked as Everton manager as ‘foolishness’, as he posted on Twitter.
Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling has added that surely that call is down to Moshiri because he is the owner of the struggling Premier League club.
Over the weekend, the Toffees endured another miserable afternoon in the Premier League, this time suffering a 2-0 loss to relegation rivals, West Ham United.
It puts them firmly in the drop zone, and only Southampton’s worse goal difference is stopping them from sitting at the bottom of the table.
The pressure has been on Lampard all season long, and 12 months after Rafa Benitez was booted out, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the former midfielder is also given the axe during the January transfer window.
Nonetheless, following Moshiri’s claims, Jeff Stelling questioned on Sky Sports News (21/01/23 at 5:25 pm) whether he is saying one thing in front of the camera and another thing behind-the-scenes, whilst Kevin Campbell also shared his thoughts.
“Farhad Moshiri, well, you have heard him say there ‘not my decision’,” said Stelling. “He is the owner of the football club, so you would have thought that it probably is his decision.
“But he’s certainly not going to be committing to, and rightly. Nobody wants a decision like that to be made publicly, especially over someone as good as Frank Lampard.”

This is years and years of decline at Everton and it has echoes of what happened at Aston Villa number of years ago.
The Midlands giants, whilst they didn’t spend much money, declined on and off the pitch for years and years, before it all ended in disaster and relegation to England’s second-tier for the first time in nearly three decades.
Everton have been shooting themselves in the foot for years and it’s only a matter of time before they drop and can no longer get up.
If they want to avoid that, then serious, serious changes need to be made.
