Foderingham hints at Rangers exit this summer, claims he’s already spoken to Gerrard

Rangers could lose goalkeeper Wes Foderingham this summer.

Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham has told The Scottish Sun that he will consider leaving Ibrox at the end of the season.

The Gers played out a goalless draw with St Johnstone on Saturday afternoon, and they had Foderingham to thank for even earning a point.

Rangers were flat and uninspired, with Foderingham sparing their blushes with a save from Joe Shaughnessy, whilst Blair Alston hit the woodwork.

Foderingham was handed a start as first-choice goalkeeper Allan McGregor is serving a suspension, with the Englishman making just a fifth appearance of the season.

Having been first-choice goalkeeper under Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty for three years, Foderingham has been forced to adjust to the unfamiliarity of bench fodder this season.

Unsurprisingly, Foderingham isn’t too happy with that situation, and at 28, he wants to go out and play more games elsewhere, almost four years since signing from Swindon Town.

Foderingham, whose deal ends in 2020, has revealed that he has already told Steven Gerrard that he wants to play more games, and hinted that he will be looking to leave Ibrox at the end of the season.

“I won’t put a timescale on it. I’ll look at all the options that are available to me and make decisions based on that,” said Foderingham. “We will see where we are at the end of the season.”

“We have had discussions and he knows I want to play. But I also know Allan is playing really well, so it’s a difficult situation I’m in. I’m here till the end of the season, so we will review it then,” he added.
