The Tottenham Hotspur forward flattered to deceive last night.

Tottenham were beaten 1-0 by Ajax in the Champions League last night, and there were not too many players who finished the game with their heads held high.
It was arguably one of Spurs’ worst performances all season, especially in the first-half, and one player in particular disappointed for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Lucas Moura started the game for Tottenham alongside Fernando Llorente in place of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, and it really was a great opportunity for the Brazilian to prove to Pochettino that he is worthy of more regular game-time.
But he fluffed his lines…badly.
The former Paris Saint-Germain ace was kept in check all night long by Matthijs de Ligt and Daley Blind, and he failed to offer his side any kind of a threat in behind the opposition’s defence.
Moura’s game is based all about pace, but he was continually running out wide, or dropping deep, failing to utilise his greatest strength.

Tottenham signed the Brazilian for £23 million from PSG in January 2018, according to BBC Sport, but he hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in north London, racking up just 13 goals and six assists in 56 appearances in all competitions thus far.
Pochettino will surely be expecting more from Lucas over the next few years, but if last night’s display is anything to go by, the forward has done nothing to convince his manager that he is deserving of a regular place in the Spurs starting XI.
