Liverpool and Manchester United reportedly want Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid.
Sergio Ramos may reportedly be wanted by Liverpool and Manchester United in the summer transfer window, but the Real Madrid central defender is eyeing a move to China.
That’s according to Madrid president Florentino Perez, who has also made it clear that the Spanish and European giants will not let Ramos leave on a free transfer this summer.
According to AS, Liverpool and United in the Premier League are interested in signing Ramos from Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Spanish publication has claimed that the Reds and the Red Devils have made contact.
The Guardian has claimed that Ramos is determined to leave Madrid this summer, having been on the books of the Spanish giants since 2005.
However, it seems that Ramos is open to moving to China, with Perez stating that representatives of the 33-year-old Spain international central defender wants to leave on a free transfer.
Perez told Onda Cero, as translated by The Guardian: “Sergio Ramos has not been in my house nor I in his – they came to see me at the office.
“They told me they had a very good offer from China but that the rules there do not allow to pay the transfer. I told Ramos it was impossible for Real Madrid to let their captain go for free. I do not give it more importance.”
Ramos is one of the best defenders in the world and is a serial winner, having clinched La Liga and the Champions League four times each with Madrid, and the World Cup in 2010 and the European Championship in 2008 and 2012 with Spain.
