Manchester City, West Ham, Sunderland, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea City, Bournemouth and Middlesbrough players feature.
Not every signing can make the dream impact of Ngolo Kante, who could be on course to win his second league title in a row with a different club.
In fact there have been some downright terrible additions. Here is a look at an XI of the very worst in the Premier League this season…
GK: Claudio Bravo
Manchester City’s Claudio Bravo
Manchester City gave away Joe Hart for this? Claudio Bravo was supposed to be the answer for Pep Guardiola, but he has posed more of a question.
He went through an entire month without making a save earlier in 2017 and looked shaky from his debut in the Manchester derby. City could be looking for a new stopper this summer.
CB: Havard Nordtveit
West Ham United’s Havard Nordtveit
West Ham have tried playing Nordtveit in a number of positions without any real success. The Hammers signed him on a free transfer so it has been in expensive gamble, but the former Arsenal trainee has not done much to suggest he has much of a future at the club.
CB: Paddy McNair
Sunderland’s Paddy McNair looks dejected after scoring a own goal and Manchester City’s second
NcNair’s Sunderland career began terribly after coming off the bench to score an own goal which lost his side the game against Manchester City.
He was very unfortunate to suffer a knee injury in November which ruled him out for the rest of the season but even beforehand he featured on the winning side for his team only once.
CB: Ragnar Klavan
Derby’s Darren Bent in action with Liverpool’s Ragnar Klavan
Not a lot was expected of Estonian defender Ragnar Klavan when he signed for Liverpool and has hasn’t exceeded expectations.
The worst part of his signing was that it gave Jurgen Klopp the confidence to send Mamadou Sakho out on loan, where he has looked like Liverpool’s best defender at Crystal Palace, while Klavan struggles.
CM: Moussa Sissoko
Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko on the bench
Sissoko might be the very worst signing in this team considering the price tag, with Tottenham likely to sell him this summer.
He has made only seven league starts since his £30 million move from Newcastle. He was a peculiar signing for Spurs and hasn’t fitted in from day one.
CM: Granit Xhaka
Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka looks dejected
Granit Xhaka pushes Sissoko close in the stakes for most expensive flop. While he has shown some nice touches and an eye for scoring an occasional goal, he has not fulfilled the reason he was signed – to make Arsenal tougher.
The Gunners have been easier to beat than ever and Xhaka’s has at times been a walkover in defensive midfield, and seems like a red card waiting to happen at all times.
MF: Jordon Ibe
Bournemouth’s Jordon Ibe in action with Everton’s Idrissa Gueye
Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe disappointed at Liverpool last season and had hoped to make the Reds regret selling him.
Entering this month he had 0 goals and 0 assists, and the chances of the Reds wanting to buy him back at this stage look slim to none.
MF: Adnan Januzaj
Sunderland’s Adnan Januzaj in action
It has been quite a fall for Manchester United’s former golden boy, who has looked like a poor player at Sunderland.
Januzaj now looks likely to exit United in the summer, but don’t expect either party to be interested in bringing him to Sunderland permanently.
CF: Simone Zaza
West Ham United’s Simone Zaza looks dejected
Simone Zaza was so bad at West Ham the club terminated his contract early, before an appearance clause kicked in to make them buy him permanently.
The Italy international was not helped by West Ham’s owners promising bigger names, but his total lack of goals sealed his fate.
CF: Borja Baston
Swansea City’s Borja Baston in action with Watford’s Valon Behrami
Swansea spent big to sign Borja Baston in a bid to find the striker who would help them avoid a relegation battle.
They couldn’t have been more wrong about Baston, who has scored only once and made just four starts, recently limited to making only substitute appearances.
CF: Rudy Gestede
Middlesbrough’s Rudy Gestede looks dejected after the match
Middlesbrough made some peculiar signings under Aitor Karanka but none more bemusing than Aston Villa back-up Rudy Gestede.
Not only did the striker struggle at Villa last season, he was mainly a substitute in the Championship this campaign, and unsurprisingly he has found goals hard to come by at Boro.
Substitutes: Loris Karius (Liverpool), Marc Wilson (Bournemouth), Gokhan Tore (West Ham), Michy Batshuayi (Chelsea), Georges-Kevin N’Koudou (Tottenham), Papy Djilobodji (Sunderland), Javier Manquillo (Sunderland)
