HITC Sport understands Fleetwood are eyeing rivals’ winger.

Fleetwood Town are lining up a move for out-of-favour Sheffield United winger Martyn Woolford, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Woolford has been deemed surplus to requirements at Bramall Lane by Chris Wilder and was placed on the transfer list as soon as the new manager arrived at the club earlier this summer.

The 30-year-old has not featured for Sheffield United this season and the club are hoping to offload him before the close of the transfer window.
Woolford joined Sheffield United last summer on a free transfer last summer and was former Blades boss Nigel Adkins’ first signing at the club.

The former Scunthorpe and Bristol City man made 34 appearances in all competitions for Sheffield United last season, but he does not figure in Wilder’s plans going forward at Bramall Lane.
Fleetwood are now considering offering Woolford a way out of Bramall Lane as they look to bolster their attacking options at Highbury.
Manager Uwe Rosler is understood to be an admirer of Woolford and he sees the wide man as being a valuable addition to his squad.
