Rangers want Devante Cole to head to Ibrox in the summer by convincing him to sign a pre-contract agreement.

Glasgow Rangers have been given a potential boost in their hopes to bring striker Devante Cole to Ibrox.

The Scottish Sun reported at the weekend that Rangers are plotting to sign Cole on a pre-contract agreement.

Now Cole’s current boss Uwe Rosler at Fleetwood Town, admits it will be difficult to keep the forward, speaking to The Telegraph.

Cole has struck 12 goals this season for the League One side.

Rosler said, speaking after Fleetwood’s FA Cup draw against Leicester City: “The way he played it’s going to be difficult to keep him.”

Fleetwood have failed in their attempts so far to get Cole to agree to an extended deal, and the interest of Rangers along with English Championship sides is likely to convince him to leave.

Fleetwood are currently 13th in League One, and just outsiders to gain promotion through the play-offs.

They could seek to cash in on Cole this month, but that will be dictated by the striker’s plans.

The son of Andy Cole is able to now pick his own future, and if Rangers are successful in getting him to sign a pre-contract agreement, Fleetwood cannot stop him.
