Mathieu Flamini posted on Instagram that he is ‘missing’ playing for Arsenal as he posted a picture of himself alongside Mesut Ozil.
Arsenal will take on rock-bottom Sheffield United in the Premier League today, days after letting their guard slip in the Europa League against Slavia Prague.
If the Gunners lose to soon-to-be-relegated Sheffield United then it will really be a knockout blow for Mikel Arteta and his job may end up riding on that second leg encounter in the Czech Republic next Thursday.
It’s pretty unlikely that Arsenal will secure any type of European football via the Premier League, so their only hope is by winning the Europa League itself.
But still, those in North London still have to try and throw punches tonight in the hope that something comes of it, even if it’s unlikely that something will fall in their favour.
Nonetheless, this is the message Flamini posted on his Instagram, with a photo of him and the now discarded Arsenal star, Ozil.
‘Missing that time a lot,” wrote Flamini to his followers. ‘Come on you Gunners, important game tonight’.
It will be interesting to see what changes Arteta makes to his side and whether he makes a vast amount of changes with an eye on next Thursday.
Many feel Arteta should put all his eggs in the Europa League basket, but judging by his comments this week, he still feels a top-seven finish is still possible.
