Tottenham Hotspur are enjoying yet another excellent season under Mauricio Pochettino, with the club one of Chelsea’s chief challengers at the top of the league and hopeful of securing one of the four Champions League spots. Despite Chelsea’s big lead, which has now stretched to eight points, Spurs could still be in with a chance at the title if they carry on their form since the start of the year.
Pochettino’s attacking, fluid style of play has really revolutionised Spurs over the last few years, and it’s no surprise to see so many young players flourishing at the club. Solid at the back and lethal up front, Tottenham are now arguably one of the most dangerous sides in the league.
But who have been the stand out performers for Spurs this season? HITC Sport have compiled a top five, but did we get it right? Here’s a look at our picks for Tottenham Hotspurs best players of the season so far…
1. Hugo Lloris

Tottenham Hotspur’s captain fantastic; the Frenchman has been in fine form yet again for Spurs this season. Not only an excellent player but a great leader, Lloris is arguably one of the best, if not the best, goalkeeper in the league. If Spurs can keep hold of the Frenchman, there’s no telling what Pochettino’s team might be able to achieve.
2. Danny Rose

The England left-back has been going from strength to strength under Mauricio Pochettino, and is now arguably one of the first names of the team sheet when it comes to the England national side. Not only is Rose an excellent defender, but the former Sunderland man also offers pace and attacking threat going forward, and is often involved in the build up to Spurs goals.
3. Victor Wanyama

Signed from Southampton in the summer, Victor Wanyama has made an instant impact since joining Spurs. The defensive midfielder, who has been an absolute rock so far this season, performs a role that allows Tottenham’s attacking players the freedom that has made their team so successful this season. Without Wanyama’s performances this season, Spurs would likely not be so high up the table.
4. Dele Alli

The 20-year-old midfielder has scored 13 goals in 29 appearances for Tottenham this season, and looks to be improving week on week under Mauricio Pochettino’s guidance. Gathering comparisons to Tottenham legends such as Paul Gascoigne, Dele Alli’s future is looking increasingly bright, and the London club will likely have to fight hard to keep hold of him in the summer.
5. Harry Kane

Proving without any doubt that he is in no way a one-season wonder, Harry Kane has once again done the business for Tottenham Hotspur this season. Strong, powerful, skillful, Harry Kane is everything a manager could want in a striker, and at the age of just 23, Kane can surely only get better?
