Leeds fans must keep an eye on a number of things in Russia this summer.

The World Cup is less than two weeks away as Russia prepares to welcome the world’s best talent, we take a look at five things that Leeds United supporters should be keeping an eye on.
Pontus Jansson
The towering centre-back has made a number of interesting comments in the media regarding his future at Elland Road, with Premier League clubs said to be interested in the former Torino defender.
A strong performance from the 27-year-old in Group F alongside Mexico, Germany and South Korea may fill fans’ hearts with pride and encouragement for next season, but it could backfire and tempt other clubs to make a move.

A new centre-forward
Losing Chris Wood last summer, Leeds chose to sign Pierre-Michel Lasogga on loan from Hamburg, but the target man managed to score just 10 goals all season.
The World Cup can prove a scouting pool for managers and whoever is in charge of the Whites, Marcelo Bielsa or anyone else, should look to the World Cup to finally replace the loss of Wood.
Andres Guardado
Back in December 2017, Spanish outlet El Gol Digital claimed that Leeds were interested in an ambitious move to sign versatile Real Betis star Guardado, who is now set to represent Mexico in Russia.
Leeds were reportedly willing to spend more than £5million on the 31-year-old, who can play at left back or on the left wing and even in central midfield. A move did not materialise, and Leeds fans can now find out what they missed out on.

A new goalkeeper
Felix Wiedwald joined the Whites from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen last summer, but has been dropped twice throughout the season and was not included in the trip to Myanmar.
Bailey Peacock-Farrell is showing signs of promise but if Leeds are to gain promotion back to the Premier League, they need an experienced stopper. The World Cup makes a goalkeeper a her or a villain, and the Whites need the hero.
Albin Ekdal
Again, Leeds were linked with the Sweden international two years ago. Now, a relegation with Hamburg and only a year left on his current contract, the midfielder could be deemed available.
He is a key component of Sweden’s side, alongside Jansson, and Leeds could consider keeping an eye on the former Juventus midfielder if he performs well at the World Cup.
